My Wave for Two I’m a fan of this feature. It was released today, so now I can share my excitement. Under the hood is a new recommendation algorithm: the Wave combines the tastes of both listeners. And you can feel it. It creates such a strong sense of contact and co-presence with another person — a feeling of “it’s as if I’m getting to know you more deeply.” To me, showing what music a person is made of is a rather intimate and complicated thing. Here it became simple and considerate. Another thing worth noting: curiosity and engagement are both higher. It’s striking how much human co-presence changes perception.
