VACANCY IN MUSIC Product designer for my team Aesthetics×Technology About the product Yandex Music is the only Russian music streaming service that is in the top 10 largest audio streaming services in the world. Who we are looking for A mature product designer who is equally strong in systems thinking and visual craft; who can think in interface architecture and maintain a high bar of visual culture. Ideally - expertise at the intersection of aesthetics and technology (motion design, creative coding, prototyping). Or a strong aesthete with fundamental education and readiness to master technical tools. Zone of influence The "Listener Happiness" team: key listening scenarios, discovering new music and returning to favorites - from the first screen to the player, recommendations and "background" states. What you will do • Create and develop interfaces across all platforms: iOS/Android, Web, car interfaces, smart speakers, smart watches, dumb watches, in general, any smart and dumb devices • Shape the product's visual language: typography, composition, color, iconography, illustration, motion design principles • Ensure product consistency between platforms: support and develop interaction patterns, conduct regular interface audits and quality criteria • Work in partnership with the brand design team: achieve a unified brand image through communications, product, and all points of human contact with Music, acting in accordance with the brand platform. • Work hand in hand with ML/recommendations: turn complex algorithms into clear and desirable user scenarios. • Prototype: from quick interactive prototypes to animation and experimental demos (Framer/ProtoPie/SwiftUI/Compose/JS). • Bring solutions to release: together with product managers, development, analytics, and researchers. Examples of tasks • Rethink the player as a "stage" where sound, cover art, gestures and animation work as one whole, conveying the vibe and character of the artist. • Create an "aesthetic layer" for recommendations: visual patterns that increase trust in the algorithm and preserve a feeling of novelty without fatigue. • Update the system of interface states and transitions (finite-state machine): animations and microfeedback - taking performance and accessibility into account. • Design a seamless cross-platform scenario "home → car → speaker", strengthening the connectedness of different platforms. We expect that you: • Have 5+ years in product design or an equivalent "battle" trajectory with end-to-end product releases. • Have a portfolio with end-to-end cases: from task and constraints to metrics/results; your contribution, logic, and detail polishing are visible. • Have taste and system: strong typography, composition, attention to detail; can explain decisions based on data and professional expertise. • Can prototype (interactive/animation) and work with development, analysts, and researchers as one team. • Are ready to set the quality bar, mentor, and lead design reviews. A plus would be • Fundamental education (design/communications/architecture/typography/HCI) or a comparable level of work. • Experience in creative programming/motion (After Effects, Lottie, Rive, Spline, WebGL, SwiftUI, Compose) and understanding of performance. • Experience in system design (design system, tokens, accessibility). • Love of music and interest in the entertainment industry. How we work • Regular design reviews and "concept cars" for forward-looking ideas - with mandatory completion to release. • Research (quantitative and qualitative), experiments, and shared criteria for interface "polishing". • Attention to aesthetics, cross-platformness, performance, and accessibility. How to apply Send a portfolio with 2-3 product-level cases (not Dribbble shots): - task context and constraints, - your role and process, - prototypes or screencasts, - what you learned and where it can be seen now: version/platform, release notes, demo, or link to a component/repository.
