There was a comic-creation service called Bitstrips, and it had ten million users. In the eastern hemisphere people had not really heard about it. In Russia even Facebook was started as an underground answer to VK. Bitstrips made a separate app for creating stickers from avatars in their signature style: Bitmoji. Snap bought them. Bitstrips was closed, and Bitmoji was integrated into Snap. The avatar sits on the map, appears as stickers in chats, and my favorite manifestation — a revival of Bitstrips. Stories with comics where the main character is the person using the app. If you are in close contact with someone, the story will be about both of you. They are funny and cute. You can enter the app not for social interactions, but for asocial ones. Which is what I do. Probably we do not see such cuteness in Meta products because Meta does not see, and therefore cannot copy, asocial mechanics. 🌚
